“Hopes for the peace” Art Omi - international residency program NYC 2010
participatory installation in conversation with the participants.
This work is trying to raise an awareness to the Arab- Israeli conflict .
"What do you know about the peace process in the middle east, specially that your country -US- is too much involved politically and militarily in our region?" that was my question to the participants.
if you still hope that peace might come some time to the Middle East, you can participate, crumple and throw a white paper over more than 5 thousands empty hopes I was crumpling daily in my studio during the time of the residency, hoping that peace could come once to this region, or maybe to recycle our hopes in the future when people are so tired to hope again.
